An article is, generally paper writing speaking, a sort of composed piece that gives the writer’s point of view, but the precise definition is somewhat obscure, encompassing those of an essay, a paper, a publication, an opinion, and a short narrative. Essays have always been considered formal and academic. In earlier times this was true, but as time has gone by it has been possible to compose an article with marginal notes and then interpret them in a number of distinct ways. The essay can be an imaginative work of prose or it is sometimes a dry factual record of facts and studies. An individual could classify an article as historical, political, aesthetic, moral, critical, or even commercial in its different guises. It is true that some essays are extremely difficult to classify.
The two main types of essays are descriptive and narrative. The narrative type of composition includes a couple of narrations, either personal or by the author’s standpoint. These can be short stories, books, biographies, or perhaps re-telling of particular events. Narrative essays are extremely popular these days, on account of the development in technology.
The second main type of essay, commonly known as descriptive article, is not as common nowadays. In a descriptive essay the focus is not on characters, scenarios, or placing, but on descriptions of objects, ideas, or theories. As its name suggests, such essays generally deal with descriptions or put other things into words. Thus one can find a vast variety of such descriptive essays in all categories and areas of study.
A descriptive essay differs from a narrative essay in the use of speech. In a story essay the language is such that the writer uses it to tell a story, elaborate a thought, or illustrate an argument. Thus a writer cannot start a descriptive essay with a simple description of an item. Rather, the focus of the essay is to describe or exemplify the thing in such ways as to make the author’s point. In a short piece of literature, on the other hand, the attention isn’t so much on the thing since it’s about the more general theme of the story told from the piece.
One interesting form of a descriptive essay has become called the argument essay. An argument essay functions very similar to a narrative essay since it begins with an introduction and then uses arguments to support one’s point of view. However, unlike a story essay, a discussion essay doesn’t have a protagonist and a villain. Rather the focus is on the overall theme of the item. As such, this kind of essay may cover many different topics which range from religion to politics and science .
There are two major types of argument essays – analytical and critical. Analytical essays are composed to present study findings while critical ones are more about opinion based on facts and research. In order to write an analytical essay, the student has to be able to analyze data, look at arguments rationally and reach a decision about a subject. On the flip side, so as to write a critical essay the student has to be able to determine whether the thesis is falsified or if there is enough evidence to warrant a position.
